When we were trying to figure out where to do these pictures, we needed somewhere inside out of the cold and sun and somewhere cool (of course). We decided on the downtown library and I was thrilled at what a neat spot it ended up being for this shoot. And it didn't hurt that the family was fantastic with two adorable little girls.

I don't think I've ever had so much fun at a shoot. Little Kate had no hesitations about delving into her cake. Her mom and I just laughed and laughed as Kate got completely covered in chocolate frosting. What a fun afternoon!

My aunt and uncle sing in a choir and they wanted me to come photograph their Christmas concert. I was scared and a bit overwhelmed at the request because I'd never shot anything like this before. After I got a little confidence booster from my friend Emilie, I felt equal to the task and it turned out to be pretty fun. I felt kind of special to be able to walk around and get right up close to the choir and the conductor as they sang. I only shot during their warm-up because the concert was going to be recorded, so I worked hard for an hour and then got to sit, enjoy, and worry about the precious images that were sitting on my camera. I think they turned out okay.

I love this shot. It was so fascinating to be able to watch the face of the conductor. She was so animated and totally into the moment.

For the first time I'm offering Christmas cards I've designed for 2010. They are templates and can be customized with your own message and of course your family pictures. You can also change the colors on any of them. The sky's the limit!

They are printed on pearl archival paper, which is thick postcard paper and has a shimmery, pearl-like finish. It's amazing and makes for awesome cards.

They come in sets of 25. Meaning you can order 25, 50, 75, 100 etc. For example if you need 40 cards, you would need to order 50.

All cards are two-sided and come with envelopes.

Our friends had their first little baby a couple weeks ago and I got to capture a few moments of him when he was about 10 days old. He wasn't liking the whole picture thing--it's hard to be in the spotlight sometimes when all you want to do is sleep.

I got him right before a sneeze.

After we had finished up the shoot and Landon had fallen asleep, we remembered we forgot to get him in his Aggies shirt. To make sure his dad was happy, we got a few more shots.

My new step-sister got married and had a beautiful reception at Cactus and Tropicals. I had never been there before and I loved it! I loved all the plants and flowers--a beautiful backdrop for a fun party.

They had a piece of driftwood as their "guest book". Very cool.

They made fabric flowers for the entire wedding party.

My personal favorite, a candy bar.

And my second personal favorite, fruit custards.

I'm somewhat partial to this little munchkin.

I've wanted to take pictures in a parking garage for a long time and I finally got my chance. Our original location wasn't working out so we opted for some shade and some protection from the wind. The garage offered some fantastic lighting, some fun props and the kids went wild!! I had a really fun time and I think we got some great shots of a great family.

This is just a taste of how windy it was that day.

I think this is my favorite shot of the day. They look like the next cast of Dawson's Creek.

My dear friend has been wanting to get pictures of her family taken for a while and we were finally able to coordinate schedules to make it happen (despite the fact we see each other almost every day). She was a little nervous about wearing bright colors but I think she had nothing to worry about because the whole family looked great! We had to contend with a bright sun and very little shade which always creates a challenge but we got some great shots.

After a long and literally exhausting car ride (we strapped the orange couch into our car so we were left breathing in exhaust the whole ride down to Provo), we met up with my friend, Erin, her husband, Danny, and their new little baby, Jude, for some fun in the incredibly hot sun. Phew, what a scorcher. Despite the heat, I think everyone kept their cool, except for me--I was sweating so bad. Ahh. I had a great time and it was so nice to see an old friend. Thanks Erin. I hope you like the pictures as much as I do.

Sitting Fee $85.00

Newborn Session
These are best done within 5 - 10 days of your baby being born because they are still very flexible and extra sleepy. Plan about 2 hours for this session and bring extra binkies, bottles, and diapers. I like to get some shots with the parent's so you can dress up too. Including an older sibling will be an extra $25. This session can be at your home or mine. I will send you a CD with up to 30 edited images and give you the print rights so you can get prints made at a lab of your choice.

Child Session
This is for one child and can be at any location of your choosing. Additional kids are $25 each. Plan about an hour for this session. I will send you a CD with up to 30 edited images and give you the print rights so you can get prints made at a lab of your choice.

Family Pricing

Sitting Fee $200.00

Bridal Session $200

This session is for the bride and groom for 60 minutes. I edit the best 30 - 40 shots and you will receive a CD with the high res images. For an additional location add $50.

This session is for civil marriages and includes pictures before, during, and after the ceremony. I edit the best shots and you will receive a CD with the high res images.

After The Temple Session $300
This session is after the temple ceremony and includes pictures of the bride and groom, family, and friends. This includes group shots as well as couple shots of the bride and groom around the temple grounds. I edit the best 30 - 50 shots and you will receive the CD with the high res images.

Reception $300
This includes two hours at the site of the reception including shots before of the details of the event, shots of the event including candid shots and ceremonial moments, and the bride and groom leaving the party. Each additional hour is $100. I edit the best 30 - 50 shots and you will receive the CD with the high res images.

My first experience with photography was actually a disaster. It was in 1994 when I was on the yearbook staff in Junior High, which gave me the opportunity to take pictures of events during the school year. My dad let me use his 30-year-old 35mm Nikon that didn't have an automatic setting on it. My friend was also on the yearbook staff so together we would go around school and take pictures. She had a fully automatic SLR so we were quite the team and felt we could handle anything. Well, I hadn't learned a thing about photography or the big piece of metal I was carrying around so I would just do what my friend did and that was to look through the view finder, turn my lense a bunch of times, and click away.

After taking the pictures, we also learned how to develop our own film. I'm a pretty precise person so I followed the directions to a "t" to make sure my film was developed just right. After working in the darkroom, the only thing I had to show for all my hard work was a blurry, black and white picture of a Student Body Officer dressed up like a Power Ranger. It was a bummer experience and not very encouraging. Since then, I've learned a lot about photography and what it means when you adjust your lense and all sorts of other very necessary things when it comes to photography.

I'm also a designer at heart and I love color and anything that has to do with it. For me, it's not the piece of art that appeals to me, it's the fine lines and intricate elements that fascinate me and leaves me thinking... how'd they do that?

I am continually learning from other designers and photographers from books and the internet. My goal is to become a master photographer as well as a great web and graphic designer; the type of artist that people look at my work and think... how'd she do that?
